Brake Repair Quick Information
Although your vehicle’s brakes work reliably over long stretches of time, taking your ability to stop for granted is never a good idea. The brakes are amazing. You press the pedal, and a level and piston send brake fluid through brake lines from the master cylinder to another cylinder at each wheel. The hydraulic force moves the brake caliper, allowing the brake pad its holding to contact the rotor, a large metal disc to the inside of the wheel. The friction between the metallic pad and the rotor slows your car. Thus, a small amount of pressure on the brake pedal enables you to stop a heavy automobile. To be sure this process isn’t disrupted, placing you in danger, it’s best practice to have us inspect your brakes periodically. Between visits, be aware of the signs of potential braking trouble and notify us immediately if you observe them. Aside from complete brake failure, an obvious warning is an increase in stopping distances. Also, alert us if you feel that your brake pedal is spongy, soft, or falling too far toward the floor. Burning odors can be an indicator, too, as a caliper may be stuck or the emergency brake isn’t fully disengaged. Other signs of trouble include new, severe vibration during braking and pulling to the side when applying brakes. The most common driver complaint, however, is squealing during braking. This usually points to the need for new brake pads, which are the most often needed brake repair.
